Pre-publish checklist

Review the most important things teams often forget before publishing a site.

Use this checklist before publishing a new website or launching a major update. It focuses on the areas that most often cause issues after going live.

Before publishing

  1. Review the homepage and the main conversion pages first.
  2. Check that the page tree is correctly organized, including main pages, subpages, landings, and system pages.
  3. Make sure unfinished pages are hidden from the menu or not visible on the public website.
  4. Review page names and URL slugs in every active language.
  5. Check that only completed languages are visible on the public website.
  6. Review translated menus, buttons, short labels, and page titles. These are easy to miss.
  7. Check that all important module items are complete: rooms, offers, restaurants, or FAQs.
  8. Review image crops on desktop and mobile, especially in heroes, sliders, cards, galleries, and overlapping layouts.
  9. Make sure there is no placeholder copy, duplicated draft text, or AI-generated content that has not been reviewed.
  10. Check all key buttons and links, especially booking links, contact links, document links, and campaign CTAs.
  11. Test every form that will be public. Check required fields, confirmation messages, Leads, and email recipients.
  12. Add or review SEO titles and descriptions for the main pages.
  13. Check robots settings for public, private, temporary, duplicated, or campaign pages.
  14. Review which pages are included in sitemap.xml.
  15. Review /llms.txt and remove pages that should not be recommended as AI reference content.
  16. Review active integrations, tracking scripts, Google Tag Manager, and custom code to avoid duplicate scripts.
  17. Prepare redirects for old URLs, changed slugs, removed pages, and important campaign URLs.
  18. Confirm the final domain version, with or without www, before launch.

Focus first on anything that affects navigation, booking, forms, indexing, redirects, tracking, or multilingual content. Visual details can keep improving after launch.
