Languages

Configure which languages are available in the CMS and on the public website.

Languages are managed from Settings → Languages. From this section, you can decide which languages can be edited in the CMS, which languages are visible on the public website, and which language is used as the default version of the site.

Language options

Each language can have different settings:

  • Enabled in the CMS: Makes the language available for editing content inside the CMS.
  • Visible on the public web: Makes the language available to visitors on the published website.
  • Default: Defines the main language of the site.
  • Alternative: Defines the fallback language used when content is missing in that language.

Enabling a language

Enable a language in the CMS when you need to create or edit content for that language. Once enabled, the language can be used across pages, blocks, modules, SEO fields, social sharing fields, static texts, media metadata, and other translatable content areas.

Showing a language on the public website

A language can be enabled in the CMS without being visible on the public website. This is useful when translations are still being prepared. Make the language visible on the public website only when the content has been reviewed and is ready for visitors.

Default and alternative languages

The default language is the main version of the site. The alternative language is used as a fallback when some content is missing in a specific language. This helps avoid empty content in multilingual sites, but it should not replace a proper translation review.

Activating a language does not automatically translate the site. Review pages, modules, SEO fields, static texts, media metadata, and URLs before making the language visible on the public website.
