Modify the design of a block
Change how a block looks by applying another design, editing it manually, or using AI.
A block defines the type of content you are editing. The design defines how that content is displayed on the website. Modifying the design lets you keep the block content while changing its layout, style, or visual structure.
Open the block design options
Open the block panel either by clicking the block in the site preview or from the Page Blocks panel. Once the block panel is open, you can use:
- Edit design, to adjust the current design manually.
- Edit with AI, to update the design by describing the changes you want.
- Change design, to apply a different design to the block.
Edit the current design manually
Use Edit design when you want to adjust the current design instead of replacing it.
From the visual editor, you can select elements directly on the preview and adjust their style from the side panel. Depending on the element, you can edit options such as typography, font size, color, alignment, margins, spacing, borders, and responsive settings. Use the desktop and mobile views to check how the design behaves on different screen sizes.

Edit the design with AI
Use Edit with AI when you want AI to help you update the design, layout, or content of the block.
You can ask AI to redesign the block from a prompt or use an image as a visual reference. Designing with AI is an iterative process. Start with a first prompt or image reference, then describe the changes you want to make until the block matches what you need.

Change the design
Use Change design when you want to replace the current design with another compatible design.
In the Change design panel, you will find two ways to choose a design for the block:
- From the design gallery: browse the designs provided by the platform, filtered by the type of block you are editing.
- From your sites: browse designs from the sites you have access to, filtered by the type of block you are editing.
Changing the design changes how the block looks, but it does not change the block type or create new content fields.

After modifying the design
After applying or editing a design, review the block carefully. A different design may use the same fields in a different way, hide fields that were visible before, or require images with a different shape. Check the main content, images, links, spacing, and mobile version before publishing.
